Have you ever noticed how when you feel happy, people respond in a more positive way to you. This is the ripple effect. The world can seem brighter just because you feel brighter. If you've had a good night's sleep (or not) try this exercise on waking:
Stretch, yawn, open you eyes, smile, welcome the day with joy. As you rise from your bed, continue the smile inside and out, and embrace the joyous feeling of a new day before you. This helps set your day in a positive place and can improve your feelings of wellbeing. Start positively and notice the ripple effect.
The saying "Smile and the world smiles with you", certainly holds some truth. If you're not feeling the joy, try singing or humming an uplifting or nonsense song, it can change your mood, Try dancing, jumping, shaking the gloom off!
I invite you to try it. Wake up with a smile, greet the day with joy, let the ripple effect be with you throughout the day, notice the positive effect around you, how people respond more positively to you. Notice the change in your wellbeing, and if it works repeat the next day, if it doesn't try a different approach. Be like a well loved puppy, eager, happy, excited to see a new day.
